Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
The ministry of care is shared ministry belonging to everyone who is part of this faith community. By virtue of our baptism, we are called to present with and for one another in the midst of the joys and the sorrows of this life. The people of Third Church share God’s invitation to pray for one another, to provide support in difficult times, to comfort those who mourn, to ease each other’s burdens.
Leadership for this ministry of care comes from Third Church staff, deacons, elders, and the Bereavement Support Team.
Our pastors are available to respond to pastoral care needs. If you have a concern and would like to share with one of our pastors, please contact Martha Langford, Associate Pastor for Congregational Care.
Invitation to Prayer
Our deacons have undertaken a weekly prayer initiative—opening the Third Church Chapel between 10:00 and 10:30am each Sunday for intercessory prayer.
Our Bereavement Support Team takes responsibility for shepherding groups in support of grieving members. The group has gathered resources around grief and loss, are gathering a training team that will support the congregation in providing grief support for its members, are planning additional services of worship that allow the community to bring their grief and loss to God in worship and prayer.
