I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
What to Expect on Sunday
Whenever you walk into Third Church, we want you to feel welcome. We hope that your worship experience with us is spirit-filled and helps you connect with God.
You will see folks dressed in blue jeans and t-shirts, folks dressed in coats and slacks, and everything in-between. You may even see a hat or two. Come the way that you feel most comfortable.
Take a bulletin—it has the order in which the service will unfold. The hymn numbers refer to the red Hymnal found in each pew. Bibles are available in the pew racks. Sit anywhere, and if needed, the usher can help you find a good seat. Enjoy the beauty of the space and our historic stained glass windows.
Together, we will sing, pray, confess our sins, hear scripture and a sermon, affirm our faith, and greet one another before we head back out into the world.

You may park in the church parking lot on Meigs Street at East Avenue, or in one of several lots near the church [see map]. On Sunday mornings, we reserve the parking lot at Arnold Park for those with handicap parking placards or license plates. This parking lot provides fully accessible entry into the church building.
We would love for your children to join us on Sunday! Child care is available during our worship services, and our nursery attendant and Sunday school leaders are ready to welcome your children to Third Church.
Based on age and year in school, children will be placed in the nursery or assigned to an appropriate Sunday school class. Children from age 3 through 6th grade begin with the congregation in worship, and are released to go to Sunday school after the Children’s Time.
You can complete and bring in the Child Registration Form to speed the first-time check-in process.
Child care is also provided at most other major church events. Please check with the church office [585.271.6513] to confirm availability.
The first people you will meet are our church Greeters, who are stationed at the four main entrances to the church building on Meigs Street, East Avenue, and at the Arnold Park parking lot. Our Greeters are there to help you find your way to the sanctuary, to the nursery, to a Sunday School class, or to an Adult Spiritual Formation gathering.
We'd love to connect with you and answer any questions you may have. After the service, make your way to the Welcome Table. Here, a friendly group of people are eagerly waiting to meet you and help you get connected.
You are also invited to hang out after the service at our Coffee Hour.
